Home Hacks - How To Remove Coffee Stains From Furniture

Image: Pinterest

The majority of us all enjoy sitting down and relaxing with a cup of coffee. However, that relaxed state of mind can often change instantly if that coffee gets spilled, especially if it's on upholstery or carpet. So to prepare you, just in case you should ever find yourself in such unfortunate circumstances, here are some coffee cleaning home hacks.

 1) Soda Water

This is to be used instantly after the spillage, pour it liberally over the stain and blot the area until it lifts. It is advised that this will remove most of the stain but not all of it.

2) Beer

After spilling a perfectly good cup of coffee you may not want to then use a perfectly good beer in an attempt to remove it, but it is very good for lifting the stain out! Rub the beer lightly onto the material and the stain should (fingers crossed!) disappear.

3) White Vinegar

An old favourite of home stain removers, white vinegar can also do the job. Pat the spot with a with an undiluted, white vinegar moistened towel just before washing (or sponging depending where the spillage is) with your usual detergent.

4) Baby Wipes

Simple but effective, they can be used to blot up both the liquid and the stain.

5) Baking Soda

Another stain remover classic, create a paste with warm water and massage into the fibres of the upholstery/carpet. Allow it to dry (which is usually pretty quick!) and vacuum the residue up. This should remove the stain and the odour.

6) Egg Yolk

A surprising one for some, but may people swear by this stain remedy. Beat the egg yolk and work into the stain with a tea towel. Rinse thoroughly with water, and the stain should be gone.
